Taking A Look At The Transportation Industry of The United States

From industrial machinery movers to global aerospace logistics to speciality freight services, the industry of transportation can be a complicated one, especially here in the United States. After all, the industry of transportation has grown considerably in recent years, as can be seen in the increase in the need for things line industrial machinery movers and Pharma logistics solutions and everything in between. From LTL shipping to trade show freight services, the need for transportation is expanding and with it so too is the ned for industrial machinery movers.

There are a number of ways in which this can be seen. For one thing, the value of cargo is rising in a steady and consistent way. In the year of 2013, the value of your average ton of cargo just barely exceeded eight hundred and eighty dollars. But this number is one the rise and is expected to reach a worth of more than one thousand and three hundred and fifty dollars per ton by the time we reach the year of 2040, if not even before then. Even after the year of 2040, the value of cargo is likely to continue to increase and the value of the transportation industry as a whole will certainly keep climbing alongside it.

In addition to this, the sheer number of tons of cargo that are being transported is also climbing quite rapidly. While only around fifteen billion tons of cargo were transported over the course of the one year of 2013, this number is expected to jump to more than eighteen and a half billion tons of cargo by the time that we reach that same year of 2040 as has been mentioned in the prior paragraph. Even in the five or so years since the year of 2013 ended, the amount of cargo that is shipped on a yearly basis has already been shown to be climbing.

But why is this the case? Why has the need for everything from industrial machinery movers to overweight shipping increased so dramatically? In many cases, this can be directly linked to the rise of e-commerce. While e-commerce is certainly no brand new concept or anything of the sort, it is really only within the last few years that e-commerce has really taken off, in many ways thanks to the use of the internet, something that is more widespread throughout the country and the world as a whole than it has ever been before.

With internet access at an all time high, many people are participating in online shopping. Online shopping and e-commerce are ideal for a wide variety of reasons, reasons that will likely vary from person to person. For instance, many people like shopping online because of the convenience – they don’t even have to leave their home to get something that they need. More and more people are even ordering groceries online, as it allows people with incredibly busy schedules to keep their pantries as fully stocked as possible without needing to go out to a store, something that some people just do not always have the time for.

And e-commerce is on the rise, something that industrial machinery movers who work in warehouses that house the products for these online purchases can very much attest to. In fact, it’s an industry that already has a global market worth that exceeds four hundred billion dollars. And in the years that are to come, this market worth is only anticipated to rise exponentially and astronomically. Some people even believe that e-commerce and online shopping will take over shopping in brick and mortar locations.

Of course, with all the shipping that needs to be going on thanks to online purchases, the need for transportation services is now higher than ever. In fact, there are now twelve million various modes of transportation used to get good from one part of the country to the next, from trains to trucks (though trucks do the vast majority of trips). Along with this, the need for people to fill the roles of the industrial machinery movers has also increased by quite a bit here and throughout the United States.
